Phonosynthesis is an interactive installation that illustrates sound as an invisible but powerful movement in the air that can be manipulated, diverted and experimented with. The installation of brightly coloured interconnected pipes encourages participants to play with sound by speaking, singing, whispering, yelling, tapping rhythm and inventing new sounds to send through the pipes to unknown points in the installation. The crisscrossing network of pipes embraces random connections and non-linear conversations between strangers.
